Origins of deGRANDSON Global

Founded in 2011, deGRANDSON Global offers a wide range of online training courses for those wishing to become ISO Certified Auditors.

Dr John FitzGerald, the founder, has over 25 years of experience as a consultant and trainer in management systems.

Initially, he developed systems to comply with ISO 9000 in 1994. However, he saw a need for online training.

 Fulfilling a learning need

“A complaint from learners and training organisations has been the difficulty of organising public courses for internal and lead auditors.

Usually, numbers for public auditor training courses are rarely sufficient and courses often don’t materialise.

This is very frustrating for learners as well as those managing their organisation’s management systems.

If there was ever a problem that can only be adequately satisfied by e-Training, this is it.”

Because of these reasons, deGRANDSON Global was founded, and issues surrounding adult learning were researched.

Moreover, the best methods for e-Training and tools that can deliver it were also examined. 

Afterward, we proceeded to preparing learning plans for a series of courses. Eventually, these courses were made available via a fully-featured Learning Management System (LMS).

A New Grade – the Lead Implementer &  Auditor

Due to lack of options, acting Audit Programme Managers (management representative, QMRs) have been forced to complete Lead Auditor courses.

These Lead Auditor courses are focused on the needs of Certification Body auditors. These include a lot of material, including managing certification audits, that is irrelevant to in-house Audit Programme Manager (APM).

With the freedom that e-Training provides, we have been able to develop a series of Implementer & Auditor Courses specifically designed to fulfill the needs of APMs.

These include scenarios, FAQs, and other relevant materials typically not found in a Lead Auditor course.

Course Development Goes On

At present, deGRANDSON Global is constantly extending the range of its ISO Management System standards. In addition to that, we also regularly revise existing courses to keep up with revised ISO Standards.
